Europaforum Northern Sweden cordially invites you to the seminar “Swedish Forest Management and the Bioeconomy”, November 28, 2017 at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU, Brussels.
The forest-based industry is one of the most important sectors for Sweden and Europe. Forest is the basis for sustainable industrial and energy production and forest biomass is found in most countries. New bio-based products, e.g. plastic, textiles and fuels from the forest can significantly contribute to EU’s Climate and Energy targets including the security of supply of energy and to achieve the EU's goal of a developed bioeconomy.
Representatives from regional and national levels in Sweden, European institutions, industry and NGOs will share knowledge and engage in debates on sustainable forest management, climate change mitigation and the growth of forest-based industries emphasizing in particular the importance of the Bioeconomy for regional growth in the sparsely populated areas in Northern Sweden.   Europaforum Northern Sweden (EFNS) is a network for politicians at local and regional levels in the four northernmost counties Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland Härjedalen and Västernorrland in Sweden. EFNS is an arena to analyze and discuss EU policies and to influence EU legislation.
